We work with many glass artists who produce everything from special commissions of grand, indulgent panels to tiny, jewels of speckled mosaic. With the natural play of light and its sensuous quality the use of glass in interiors can dramatically transform a space. We can produce almost any design in any size but a lot of the artists we work with have popular formats. Each tile is meticulously crafted entirely by hand, through several skilled and time-consuming stages. Some tiles contain several layers of glass and colour. The firing process then transforms the tile, as the glass and colour ‘slump’ and become fused together. Some tiles will be solid colour, with dramatic pattern or style. Others can be produced so the tiny air bubbles that get trapped inside can be seen. This gives the tile its zingy texture and depth. Some designs will have a wonderfully tactile undulating surface.
